A Valencia bank robbery at a Chase location was reported Monday afternoon, officials said.

The bank robbery in Valencia was reported at about 3:15 p.m. Monday on the 24000 block of Valencia Boulevard, according to Sgt. Gooseberry with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“They are still on scene investigating,” Gooseberry said around 3:35 p.m.

The suspect, described as a male in his 50’s wearing a hooded jacket and glasses, fled on foot westbound near Valencia Boulevard, according to deputies on scene.

“(The) suspect allegedly robbed the teller,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “No weapon was seen.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is en route to assist in the investigation, according to Laura Eimiller, spokesperson for the FBI Los Angeles Office.

An unknown amount of money was taken from the bank, according to Sheriff’s officials.
