A Valencia man who was found dead in a vehicle Thursday afternoon has been identified.

Daniel Prutting, 43, from Valencia was the man who was found dead in a vehicle Friday, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Examiner’s Office.

Just after 12:20 p.m., first responders received reports of a person unresponsive in the 23000 block of Avenida Valarte in Valencia, according to officials.

The informant told dispatchers he believed his friend was overdosing, Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, said at the time of the incident.

After paramedics performed CPR on Prutting for several minutes, he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

The exact cause of Prutting’s death has not been released as of Friday.
