Derek Waldeck, Hart High School Alumnus, Is Going After The NCAA Title

Derek is currently playing for Stanford men’s soccer team but this will be his last year in college. As a midfielder for the Standoff University men’s soccer team, Hart High School alumnus is finding whole new motivations to deliver his best during the upcoming season. Derek Waldeck was born in Santa Clarita, Calif and finished his high school studies here, at Hart.

Derek Waldeck has a pretty successful college soccer career so far and this has just added confidence to him and Waldeck is promising to deliver this season and aims pretty high. The importance and popularity of sports have only increased in the last few years. Especially college sports have been getting extra coverage and people have noticed.

You can even bet on college sports these days because they’ve become much more than college games and entertainment.  Traditional gambling has been around for a while and has covered the majority of the globe. Americans have taken a big liking to the sports betting while in neighbouring countries other options might be more popular, for example, Online live roulette Canada. But the importance of sports has definitely grown overall.

Waldeck’s best season yet

Waldeck has managed to win NCAA Division 1 title back to back during his freshman and sophomore seasons. The following season might be the one where the team bounce back from 2018 loss against Akron to prove their worth and for Waldeck to leave his college career in his prime. The motivation is definitely there for the whole team but especially for Waldeck.

When speaking with the media Stanford s player said that the previous season taught him a lot of lessons and he didn’t let the losses discourage him or demotivate him. Quite the contrary, since this is his last chance to show himself as the Stanford player, Waldeck recognized that he has to do his absolute best. Being the last “go-around” as a college senior the stakes and high but Derek seems pretty confident.

For the Hart alumnus, the playing collegiate soccer was a very special experience. Sharing the pressures and the wins wit people who are going through the same personal changes and situations can be a great way to bond, which is exactly what happened in Derek’s case. One of the major motivating factors for the player has actually been the team and his teammates. It comes down to it being the last year of paying with Stanford and wanting to honour the whole experience along with the Teammates.

Not surprising Waldeck has been having his best season yet and a lot of it can be attributed to him being more comfortable, mostly due to his experiences over the last 4 years. This year Waldeck his hit personal career-high in goals with four goals, he assisted in 8 and has overall accumulated 16 points. His success was recognized by the team and he was chosen as one of the 8 Stanford all-conference selections.

A Distinguished team-player

What makes Derek so special that despite his multiple successes with Stanford he has never stopped working on himself to become the best player he could be. He said that he would always practice free-kick deliveries even though he has been on set pieces on the team since he was a freshman.

This attitude is rare to find and it’s clear that it has served Derek very well. Working on his skills constantly has allowed Derek to gain more confidence during his games, hence he has embraced the risk-taking approach and in the end, Derek had the best year during his whole college career and it looks like he plans on securing his name by winning the next NCAA, set to resume on December 13th.

Derek wants to leave behind a legacy which is a lot more than just winning and scoring goals. He has repeatedly put in a conscious effort to set others up and to be an exemplary teammate.  He has managed to find a balance in taking the lead when necessary and allowing others to take the lead when its good for the team. Derek’s professionalism hasn’t gone unnoticed by the award committees.

He was named to the All-Foothill League first-team in 2012 and 2013 and has previously said that the success of his team is more important than his personal success and that the latter doesn’t bring him as much joy as being useful on the field and playing as a teammate and not a single. This kind of attitude really set Derek apart and showcases his skills not only as a player but as a good team player as well. With the combinations of his skills, his confidence and his team working abilities the following season is set to be best for the Hart Alumnus.
