Students and faculty from Bowman High School in Santa Clarita are gearing up to hold their “Day of the Artist and Poet” event, school officials announced Wednesday.

More than 150 students, poets, musicians and artists are planning to take part in the event, which is scheduled for Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m.

The 24th annual event will feature an art display of students’ work, musicians and readings from books of poetry created by students.

School officials said the event “offers great visuals and a chance for students to showcase their creativity.”

Poets and artists are expected to be available to comment on the day and their work.
