Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson is talking about the many reasons to choose a licensed audiology office over going to a big box store or ordering online instead.

Some people may think they’re saving a few dollars by choosing alternative options, but Aronson noted that her prices are bundled to include free service, saving money in the long run.
“In the world today, they are saying that hearing aids are so expensive, but people don’t realize that we bundle our prices,” Aronson explained in an earlier interview with KHTS. “It’s not only the price of the hearing aid, but it includes service — hearing aids need a lot of service.”

For example, someone who bought their hearing aid at a big box store would need to pay every time they went back to have the hearing aid cleaned or adjusted or have batteries replaced. In contrast, Aronson’s patients can return for these services and more at no additional cost.
Further, someone having trouble with their hearing aid won’t have access to the same expertise found with a Santa Clarita audiologist like Aronson — who is licensed and has 40 years of experience — if they choose a big box store, and won’t have any help at all if they ordered online.
“Hearing aids have to be fit correctly in the ear,” Aronson said. “If you think the hearing aid is too tinny, how are going to get that changed if there’s nowhere for you to (go)?”
Aronson is licensed by the state in Audiology and hearing aid dispensing. She also has a Master’s Degree in Audiology from California State University, Long Beach and holds certifications of clinical competence from the American Hearing and Speech Association and the American Academy of Audiology.
“What people don’t realize is, yes you’ll find hearing aids less expensive online because you’re only finding a hearing aid,” Aronson concluded. “You’re not finding a person to fit it, you’re not finding any service with it.”
