“All the kittens are very energetic, playful, curious,” said Haley Walsh, the rescue’s founder and CEO. “They want to run and play and explore.”

During their time at Tails and Scales, the kittens have been socialized with people, dogs, cats and children, and Walsh noted they’re all friendly and social.
While neither litter will be officially available for adoption until after they’re spayed or neutered at 12 to 16 weeks, Tails and Scales Animal Rescue is currently accepting adoption applications and will place the kittens in foster-to-adopt homes when they reach 10 weeks old.
“These kittens are fun and playful, “ Walsh said, “and they will fit into just about any home.”
As of Tuesday, Rockstar, Redbull and Sake have potential adopters, with the five remaining kittens patiently waiting for their future families.
The rescue’s $100 adoption fee for each kitten includes a full exam by a veterinarian, FeLV/FIV testing (all eight have tested negative), fecal exams, vaccines, microchipping and their spay or neuter.

About the KHTS Adopt a Pet Series
Every Wednesday, the KHTS Adopt a Pet series features an adoptable animal from the Santa Clarita Valley in need of a home. The KHTS Features team travels to different rescues and shelters in Santa Clarita to meet the pets and tell their stories in hopes of helping them get adopted. First launched in August 2016, the series has partnered with seven local rescues, as well as the Castaic Animal Shelter, to showcase more than 40 dogs, cats and bunnies, and has seen 30 — and counting — adoptions so far. The series was created by Features Director Melissa Lampert, who has more than 10 years of experience in the animal rescue world and co-founded Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary in Santa Clarita in 2016.
