By connecting leaders in the non-profit and charity worlds, Santa Clarita Coalition aims to help community members help one another in an organized, informed way.

Santa Clarita Coalition works directly with non-profit organizations, such as Santa Clarita Grocery, and local charity drives, such as Smile, SCV! to fund organizing efforts throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

Additionally, the Coalition helps organizers work together by acting as a non-profit network. When local non-profit organization founders and charity leaders exchange information and resources, the whole community benefits.

When Saugus High School student Regina Lee came to the Santa Clarita Coalition for help realizing her goal of supporting local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, board member Jeri Seratti-Goldman connected her with Santa Clarita Grocery and the Boys and Girls Club.

“When I first thought of (Smile, SCV!), it was more of a fantasy,” said Lee. After connecting with the Santa Clarita Coalition, Lee was excited to find out that “this fantasy can turn into reality.”

In addition to coordinating with charity drives for disaster relief efforts, the Santa Clarita Coalition supports year-round non-profit operations such as Santa Clarita Grocery.

Santa Clarita Grocery is a year-round Santa Clarita food pantry. Through monetary support and direct donations of fresh groceries, Santa Clarita Grocery serves over 750 local families facing food insecurity.

Those seeking to help member organizations can donate directly through the Santa Clarita Coalition website. Additionally, non-profit and charity organizers can contact the organization for information on how to connect with their network of local organizations.
