BREAKING: Steve Knight To Run For Congress After Katie Hill Resigns

Former Congressman Steve Knight announced that he will be running to retake the 25th California Congressional seat after Congresswoman Katie Hill resigned Sunday.

After news broke late Sunday afternoon that Hill was resigning from the United States House of Representatives, Knight announced his intention to run for the seat he lost back in 2018.

“After serving my community and country for nearly three decades, I will always answer the call when needed,” Knight said in a statement Monday. “At this point, we are entering uncharted waters. I am looking to run and am thankful for all the calls encouraging me to return to Congress.”

Knight is set to further elaborate on his run in an exclusive interview with KHTS later Monday afternoon.

This news comes less than 24 hours after Hill announced her resignation following allegations of improper relationships with staff.

“It is with a broken heart that I announce my resignation from Congress,” said Hill in a statement released Sunday. “This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I believe that it is the best thing for my constituents, my community, and our country.”

Last Wednesday, Oct. 23, the House Ethics Committee opened an investigation on Hill involving allegations of sexual affairs with staffers, after Hill called for an investigation into the publication of explicit photos of herself that were posted online without her permission.

These allegations, which include an extramarital affair with her legislative director and a consensual romantic “throuple” between Hill, her husband, and a 22-year-old female campaign volunteer who later also allegedly became a paid employee, are reportedly being made by Hill’s estranged husband, Kenny Heslep, as the pair are going through a divorce, according to officials.

Photos and copies of texts allegedly between staff, Hill and her estranged husband were posted as proof of the allegations of her extramarital affairs. Representative Hill had notified Capitol Hill police, who are investigating the situation and potential legal violations of those who posted and distributed the photos, according to statements made by Hill at the time.

Last Wednesday in another letter to constituents, Hill denied the alleged relationship with a House staff member but acknowledged she was involved in a separate relationship with a member of her campaign staff “during the final tumultuous years of my abusive marriage.”

“I know that even a consensual relationship with a subordinate is inappropriate, but I still allowed it to happen despite my better judgment,” the Oct. 23 letter read.

Hill described her resignation as something that “needs to happen,” to avoid further victimization of her supporters via “a smear campaign built around cyber exploitation.”

She went on to say that the publication of personal and intimate photos was an “appalling invasion of my privacy.”

“It is also illegal, and we are currently pursuing all of our available legal options,” she added in her resignation letter. “However, I know that as long as I am in Congress, we’ll live fearful of what might come next and how much it will hurt.”

Hill did not specify a resignation date in her letter.

“For the mistakes made along the way and the people who have been hurt,” said Hill. “I am sorry, and I am learning I am not a perfect person and never pretended to be.”

BREAKING: Steve Knight To Run For Congress After Katie Hill Resigns

  1. He’s probably the one who started this. God forbid we get him again. I’m so sick of the hypocritical people who criticize someone like Katie Hill but don’t care that their lecherous bully who pays call girls is still sitting comfortably in the WH. Good night, Steve Knight.

    • I’m not saying your analogy is incorrect, but former Congresswoman Hill did bring this on herself. It’s poor judgement to voluntarily have photographs taken of you in what would be considered highly questionable antics. Particularly in the high-tech world we all live in. There is always the risk of someone using these type of photographs as ammunition, no matter what there agenda is. Is it criminally wrong for someone to have leaked these photographs, perhaps so. But nobody made the former Congresswoman pose for these pictures. She is accountable for her actions and took the correct step in resigning.

    • You have no evidence that Knight had anything to do with this. Hills actions have consequences! Smoking dope, affairs with staffers, etc was her downfall. Typical Liberal Democratic hypocrisy!

    • Lol thanks for the laugh

    • hill of beans only got elected thru the vote harvesting process or stealing an election…..we will be ready thid time

    • How can you blame Steve knight for her actions?! That makes absolutely no sense! If she was involved in wrong doing it doesn’t matter who brought this to light. Quit making stuff up to make you feel better about your Congress women’s poor choices and more importantly your poor judgment in voting for her.

  2. “Yeah He Started it.” He’s to blame for Her inappropriate relationship(s) with her Staff people. He’s to blame for her having that Bong in her hands. She’s deflecting and blaming everyone else for her Actions. Just own up to it, apologize for your transgressions and move on. Next…

  3. Yep vote Republican people and save us from the odd public fetishes and tax hikes

  4. Really wish he wouldn’t. Mike Garcia is a much better option.
