Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, released the following statement Wednesday, after being the 218th  Republican to secure a seat in the house, ensuring majority control would remain with the political party.

“I’m proud to be one of the 218, and more to come,” Garcia said. “While the networks made official that CA-27 is the 218th seat, I want our district to know that the mission remains the same. We are all part of one glorious team called the United States. I will work as hard as I can every single day to serve you and get our country back on track. It will be an honor for me to represent you in the majority.”

While Garcia already has two years under his belt, he is ready to take on another two.

“I look forward to delivering all forms of security for our district and our nation, whether you voted for me or not,” Garcia said.
