One person reportedly jumped off Highway 126 landing on the 5 Freeway in Castaic prompting a SigAlert, officials said.
Around 9:55 a.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a person threatening to jump off of Highway 126 on to the 5 Freeway, said Officer Josh Greengard spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Newhall Office.
“He jumped and landed on the southbound 5 Freeway,” Greengard said.
One person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to Franklin Lopez, with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
As a result of the incident, all southbound lanes on the 5 Freeway at Highway 126 have been closed, according to Greengard.
As of 10:30 a.m., all lanes of the 5 Freeway have reopened, according to CHP officials.

Thank you Brenda. It was my son and I will never recover from this. I need to find the person who tried to stop him. My son was my life. The sweetest person in the world. He could care less about politics he just wanted to make everyone happy. He was suffering the last week and We did everything I could to help him. The only thing keeping me going is knowing he’s in heaven with his grandpa.

That was my son !! The most amazing loving person in this entire world ! He meant no harm. All he wanted was to make everyone happy !No mother should EVER have to receive the call I did. He recently started showing signs of mental illness and I did everything I could to get him help.
I will let you all know this had absolutely NOTHING to do with politics. I just want to say ignore what’s going on in the world a hug your child right now.

I am saddened that people used this devastating loss of a beautiful young man to spout their political opinions. Where is your compassion? How would you feel if this was your son or daughter? A young man was suffering with mental issues and decided the only way out was to commit suicide. His fiance, family and friends are in pain and mourning. Suicide is not political. It is personal. It’s a major public health problem and a leading cause of death in the United States.
