An extreme wind event referred to as the “strongest wind event of the season” brought strong gusts that uprooted trees, downed powerlines and damaged buildings across the Santa Clarita Valley on Tuesday.
The morning started with a large eucalyptus tree falling into a condo building on the 25700 block of Hogan Drive in Valencia.

Another large tree blocked northbound lanes of McBean Parkway near Granary Square in Valencia at around 2:00 p.m.

The roof of a warehouse building was peeled off by high winds near Drayton Street and Railroad Avenue in Saugus.
