The Whites Fire broke out in Canyon Country near Todd Longshore Park Tuesday, prompting a response from firefighters.

Original story: The brush fire, dubbed the Whites Fire, was first reported to firefighters around 2:35 p.m. on the 28150 block of Whites Canyon Road near Todd Shorelong Park in Canyon Country, said Leslie Lua, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We are responding to reports of a small brush fire,” Lua said.

The fire is currently burning in medium fuels with structures threatened, according to Fire officials.

Southbound Whites Canyon Road was blocked at Steinway Street as of 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.

No evacuations were underway as of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
