Valencia-Based Company Recalls Over 24,000 Pounds Of Taquitos

Bestway Sandwiches, a Valencia-based company, has issued a recall for approximately 24,870 pounds of frozen chicken and cheese taquito products due to potential metal contamination.

Details of the Recalled Product:

  • Product Name: Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos
  • Package Size: 20-ounce cartons
  • Production Dates: July 3, 2024, and Sept. 25, 2024
  • Best By Dates: 07/03/25 and 09/25/25 (located on the bottom panel)
  • Establishment Number: EST. P-40327 (found on the carton package)

The recall was initiated after a customer reported discovering a metal fragment in the food. One person reported they endured a dental injury associated with the consumption of these taquitos.

Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled taquitos. Products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is concerned that some products may still be in consumers’ freezers. There have been no additional reports of injury or illness related to this issue. Anyone with health concerns should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers with food safety questions can contact the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline or utilize the online complaint form for further assistance here.
