At about 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a medical emergency on the 17200 block of Mount Stephen Avenue in Canyon Country.
“We arrived on scene at 3:30,” said Franklin Lopez, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “The call came in as a patient crushed.”
The initial call involved an infant not breathing because of an accident involving an older sibling, resulting in the “person crushed” call, according to Fire officials on scene.
An air squad helicopter was requested for the injury, with the landing zone at Canyon Country Park, according to the department.
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station blocked traffic en route from the residence where the injury occurred to the park, according to officials.
The condition of the victim is unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.
