Firefighters Takedown Fire In Newhall

UPDATE: Firefighters put out a structure fire in Newhall that broke out Friday afternoon, officials confirmed.

UPDATE 2:15 p.m. — LACoFD personnel have extinguished the Newhall blaze that began early Friday afternoon. Takedown lasted only minutes for first responders, according to witnesses on scene.

“This was a one story single-family dwelling fire in the interior (of the house),” said Battalion Chief K.G. Seta, LACoFD. “There appear to be no victims hurt by the fire.”

It is unknown if individuals injury was related to the fire.

LACoFD officials have confirmed they are responding to a structure fire on the 24000 block of Arch St. in Newhall.The initial call came in at 1:38 p.m. and by 1:42 p.m. first responders were on scene.

KHTS reporters at the scene said it appears nobody was home in the single-family house when the fire broke out.

First responders at the scene said there was major damage to the interior of the house. Another person was treated by paramedics at the scene, but officials did not say if it was related to the fire.

“We are responding to a structure fire,” said Supervisor McBride with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “Smoke showing from in front of residence.”
