A Valencia parking lot flooded Saturday after water began flowing from an unknown source Saturday afternoon.

The parking lot, located near the 25500 block of The Old Road, first began flooding shortly before 3 p.m., according to fire department officials. It is unknown if businesses in the adjacent business complex, including Staples and Bob’s Discount Furniture, were affected.

“There was water coming from underground,” said supervising fire dispatcher Melanie Flores. “Unknown source.”

By 3:30 p.m., Firefighters began evacuating the parking lot, removing cars from at least a dozen rows of the lot.
