Car Skids Off-Road In Canyon Country Crash, No Injuries Reported

No injuries were reported after a car skid off the road into a planter in a Canyon Country crash Wednesday.

Around 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, a car skidded through the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Via Princessa in a Canyon Country crash, according to Bradley Grose, who caught the collision from his drone.

The vehicle was traveling east on Golden Valley Road from the 14 Freeway, when it was unable to make the turn and jumped the curb landing in a planter, according to Grose.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

“As you approach Via Princessa, the road takes a subtle turn with about a 15-20 degree decline down hill,” Grose said. “The trees lining the sidewalks make it impossible to know the road ends and is an optical illusion that you will be able to swing right or left.”

There are no signs indicating Golden Valley ends, no speed bumps or reflectors where Golden Valley Road T’s into Via Princessa, except for a small yellow sign.

Over the last few months, several crashes have occurred at the intersection including a truck pulling a loaded horse trailer.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
