A motorcyclist who was killed in a 14 Freeway crash last week has been identified, officials said.
Jesus Tapiaramos, 27, of Santa Clarita, was killed in the crash, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, first responders received reports of a traffic involving a motorcycle on the northbound 14 Freeway just north of the truck route from the 5 Freeway around 12:30 a.m., said Officer Eric Priessman from the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on the 14 Freeway and reportedly failed to turn as the roadway curved, according to the CHP report.
As a result, the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and hit by a car, according to officials.
Tapiaramos was pronounced dead on arrival by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, according to officials.
“DUI is considered to be a factor in the crash,” according to the CHP report.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP Newhall Area Office.
