Two Car Collision Disrupts Newhall Traffic Near 14 Freeway

Commuters were rerouted through heavy traffic after a two-car crash in the middle of a major intersection in Newhall.

At 10:03 A.M. Saturday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the intersection of Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway, according to Pauline McGee, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“There were no injuries and no fatalities,” McGee stated.

The crash was between a Tesla and a Hyundai Elantra with major damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Due to the collision, traffic exiting from the southbound 14 freeway was redirected north on Sierra Highway instead of going straight on Newhall Avenue. Traffic going east towards the 14 freeway could not turn onto Sierra Highway going north.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
