The call was reported to firefighters shortly before 10 a.m. on the 25100 block of Avenue Tibbitts for a traffic collision involving a pickup truck verses an unknown vehicle,  said Gustavo Medina, an inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“When the ambulance arrived on scene of the traffic collision, they reported one person was trapped,” said Medina.

Medina did not specify if any additional people were involved in the crash.

At that point, the responding units requested specialized equipment, including the Jaws of Life, for assistance in freeing the victim, said Medina.

As of 10:20 a.m. the victim’s condition is unknown.
