Santa Clarita Alumnus Trevor Bauer Handed 2 Year Suspension By MLB

This week, the Los Angeles Dodgers placed pitcher Trevor Bauer on a two-season  suspension, after allegations of sexual assault.

L.A. Dodgers pitcher and former Hart High School alumnus Bauer was suspended for two seasons this week as a result of the team’s decision, according to Fox 11.

Bauer has been on paid leave under Major League Baseball and players union’s sexual assault policy since July due to the sexual assault claims, according to Fox Los Angeles.

MLB Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. announced on Friday that following an “extensive investigation” by MLB’s Department of Investigations, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has received a suspension for 324 championship season games (representing two full seasons) without pay, effective immediately, for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

Last June, Bauer was accused of choking a woman unconscious and allegedly punching her several times during two consensual sexual encounters. The pitcher was consequently placed on administrative leave.

On Friday, the Dodgers released a statement regarding allegations of assault and domestic violence.

“The Dodgers organization takes all allegations of this nature very seriously and does not condone or excuse any acts of domestic violence or sexual assault,” the team stated.

The Dodgers also stated that it had cooperated fully with the investigation since it began and fully support the MLB’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexul Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

“We understand that Trevor has the right to appeal the Commissioner’s decision,” the team’s statement continued. “Therefore, we will not comment further until the process is complete.”

In a tweet, Bauer responded by denying wrongdoing and stated that he would be appealing the suspension.

“In the strongest possible terms, I deny committing any violation of the league’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy,” Bauer tweeted. “I am appealing this action and expect to prevail. As we have throughout this process, my representatives and I respect the confidentiality of the proceedings.”

In February, the office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney (D.A.) announced that it would not be filing charges against Bauer. The D.A.’s office cited insufficient evidence necessary to win a conviction.

Just a few days before the suspension announcement, Bauer, who graduated from Hart High School in Santa Clarita, filed a defamation lawsuit against the woman who accused him of sexual assault last year.

Bauer and his legal team have continued to deny any wrongdoing and have said through representatives that everything between Bauer and the woman was “wholly consensual.”

  1. He was never convicted of a crime !

    • Let’s see, these allegations were investigationed by the police and nothing. He killed her or should I say she killed herself in protective order court hearing in front of the Judge. Maybe the league, the Dodgers and other people should look up the definition of “allegations” basically a claim made by someone without proof!!!

What a world we live in and what a world this has become!! Allegations with zero proof and you get a 2 year suspension!!!

Innocent until PROVEN guilty is not true and joke!!!

He should sue everyone! And for the record, since when is our private sex lives anybody’s business!!

Next, our medical records won’t be private anymore…..oh wait!

This no longer America, land of the free.

    • Was Pete Rose ever convicted of anything? He was banned for life.

      • I could be wrong but as I recall, Pete Rose couldn’t be convicted of a crime since what he did wasn’t a crime. It was just a major MLB violation.

  2. NOW WE JUST NEED THE DODGERS AND MLB TO STOP ABORTION !!! IF THE DODGERS AND MLB ARE CONCERN OF PROTECTING CONSENUAL ROUGH HOUSING (GOOD)… THEN THE DODGERS AND MLB SHOULD BE CONCERN OF PROTECTING INNOCENT YOUNG LIVES (BETTER YET !!!)…
