No Charges To Be Filed Against Hart High School Alum, Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer

Hart High School graduate and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has avoided charges after an investigation into domestic violence allegations from last year.

Bauer has not pitched for the Dodgers since June 28 of last year after he was placed on leave due to the allegations of domestic violence and assault between Bauer and a San Diego woman.

According to a Fox News article the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to charge Bauer after investigating the case. Material reviewed includes messages between Bauer and the accuser, the Pasadena Police Department’s investigation and the transcript of the civil hearing last summer.

Last June Bauer was accused of choking a woman unconscious and allegedly punching her several times during two consensual sexual encounters. As a result the pitcher was placed on administrative leave with the Dodgers having only appeared in 17 games that season.

In August a judge denied the 27-year-old woman’s request for a restraining order. The alleged victim said she sought the order when she learned the criminal probe of Bauer was likely going to take some time.

After a four-day hearing, Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman found that Bauer had followed the boundaries set by the woman, based on the alleged victim’s testimony. The judge determined that Bauer couldn’t know boundaries the woman didn’t express.

Bauer and his attorneys have denied any wrongdoing throughout the case and have said through representatives that everything between Bauer and the woman was “wholly consensual.”

Bauer could still face suspension at the start of the 2022 season.
