A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) motorcycle officer was transported to the hospital after being injured in a crash on the 14 Freeway in Canyon Country Wednesday morning.
Around 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 14 Freeway near Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country, said Officer Josh Greengard,, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.
“An on-duty LAPD Officer, assigned to the Valley Traffic Division was riding his LAPD police motorcycle,” Greengard said.
In the early stages of the investigation, the police motorcycle and a blue GMC Sierra pickup side swiped each other and the motorcycle went down, according to Greengard.
“The LAPD Officer was standing and talking with the CHP units when they arrived,” Greengard said. “The officer was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with suspected minor injuries.”
The crash remains under investigation.
