At least five motorcycles were involved in a Newhall crash on the 5 Freeway Friday afternoon, officials said.
Around 1:10 p.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 5 Freeway near Lyons Avenue, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.
“Multiple motorcycles are down,” Greengard said.
As of 1:20 p.m., it is unknown exactly how many bikes are down, however, CHP officials say at least five motorcyclists were involved in the collision, according to officials.
Two victims were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to Marvin Lim with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
As a result of the crash, the No. 1 and 2 lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway are temporarily blocked, according to CHP logs
