A Castaic man was arrested after he allegedly stole a cell phone from a guest at the Rodeway Inn Wednesday.
Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to reports of a stolen cellphone from the Rodeway Inn on the 31500 block of Castaic Road in Castaic, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “While the victim was paying for a room, she placed her cell phone on the counter,” Arriaga said. “The victim stepped away and returned later to find her phone missing.”
Through the use of video surveillance, motel staff and deputies were able to identify the man responsible for the theft, who was later identified as being a guest in the motel, according to Arriaga.
Deputies contacted Darin Kubinak, 42, from Castaic in his motel room and arrested him for felony grand theft, Arriaga added.
He was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains in custody as of Thursday morning, Arriaga said.

Was this another Liberals taxpayer paid free motel room for Vagrants incident?!?!
He did not steal the phone from the Rodeway Inn. He stole the phone AT the Rodeway Inn from a stupid customer.
Rodeway Inn is the cheapest of the 3 bad lodgings in Castaic. All three cater to truckers, transients, and low-life’s that linger in the trucking district.
