A man who was caught by a doorbell camera allegedly stealing a package at a Castaic doorstep has been taken into custody in Bakersfield for unrelated charges, according to officials.

On April 23, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station released footage obtained by a doorbell camera of a thief allegedly stealing a package from a Castaic home.

“The man was caught and he is no longer outstanding and in custody,” said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

  1. JEEEZ keep the bum in Kern county we don’t need any more meth uses in Santa Clarita.

  2. I would guess he is a parole, released because of AB109 or propositions 47 and 57 (mind you these were voted in). So I looks like people are getting what they voted for. Sorry for those who were smart enough to vote no…

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
