Lancaster Man Arrested In Valencia After Reportedly Threatening Restaurant Employee

A Lancaster man was arrested in Valencia on Tuesday on felony charges of criminal threats after reportedly threatening a restaurant employee who refused to serve him alcohol after the business was closed, officials said.

At around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, deputies responded to the 24200 block of Valencia Blvd, according to Shirley Miller, public information officer for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The victim is an employee at a restaurant,” Miller said. “The suspect was reportedly requesting to buy alcoholic beverages after the business was closed and after the employee told him the business was closed and he was no longer serving drinks.”

The suspect then allegedly became “enraged” at the employee, and began, “shouting, cursing and threatening” the employee, according to Miller.

The suspect then reportedly left the scene. However, when the employee left the restaurant an hour and a half later, the suspect then reportedly began following the employee, again verbally threatening him, Miller said.

After the victim called 9-1-1, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested the suspect, 30-year-old Nicholas Vargas of Lancaster, on charges of Criminal Threats, a felony according to officials.

He was transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where arrest records indicate that bail was set at $50,000.

  1. This also happened to me when I worked at Wizards in citywalk before it shutdown years ago. Instead, I quit right there and left. Some guy wanted his girlfriend to enter the bar who was like 19 years old after carding her, I refused her entry and that’s when he threatened to kick my ass. I immediately told a manager and quickly left. It was just a side job and I didn’t need to be there. Alcoholics are the worst.
