“The call came in as a suspect with a rifle. Once they made contact, they realized he was a narcotic suspect,” said Officer Tony Im, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. “I cannot confirm if there was a gun recovered or not.”
Officers on scene where the man was arrested, near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue, told a KHTS reporter that they did not believe the suspect was armed when he was arrested.

Love it, great job. Thank You.
Did they also mention, there were 12 police cars and a helicopter, for one arrest. That’s our tax dollars at work.
Yes, and photo shows most of cars
How many should have there been and who else should pay them? On societal scale must look deeper. give drugs away as a strictly monitored drug abuse program effectiviy gutting profit incentives and criminal element. Seriously treat as a proactive heath issue along with mental health and homelessness freeing cops to enforce other laws. Restore family member and spare cost of prison which is where tax dollars lost into money pit of flawed approach. Study European methodology. Don’t complain find a solution. Cops still trying to go home safe in flawed system.
What if he was to open fire? That seems like an appropriate response to this situation.

WW always seems to find the negative in every story as if he has a better solution to every problem. Might I suggest that you go through the academy, earn your badge, climb the corporate ladder (with all your knowledge, that shouldn’t take too long) become the Captain and start coming up with better solutions to save all of us tax payers some money…being that that is your primary concern.
Personally, I’d rather see 12-15 units on scene and aerial support for a better view and be able to know that my family and friends who serve our community will make it home safe to their families at the end of their shift rather than swallow a bullet because some tax payer was worried about how many cars and helicopters were on scene.
Yeah it was me I did 20 months & I am bac out in society, off parole too….. oh yeah & the saga continues….
