A machete and ammunition were reportedly recovered Friday after deputies detained at one suspect at gunpoint during a felony traffic stop in Canyon Country.

Just after 4:55 p.m. Friday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station conducted a felony traffic stop on a white Chevrolet pick-up truck in the parking lot of Toppers Pizza near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway.

The truck was reported as stolen out of Lancaster, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

After deputies detained the driver at gunpoint, they managed to recover a machete and ammunition as they searched the allegedly stolen vehicle, according to officials on scene.

Officials were still on scene as of 5:30 p.m. Friday.
