A man was arrested in Canyon Country Friday night after allegedly being caught on surveillance cameras damaging the Canyon Country Library back in June.
At around 7:15 p.m. Friday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested Alexis Ponce, 24, of Canyon Country.
“Alexis Ponce was arrested in connection with being a wanted suspect for a vandalism that occurred at Canyon Country Library in June,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station. “The suspect was caught on surveillance footage allegedly damaging library property.”

Ponce was taken into custody on felony vandalism charges, Miller added.
He was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Jail for booking, where weekend arrest records indicate that he was released on a citation.
