Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests Total 27, Including Felony Child Endangerment Case

Law enforcement agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley reported a total of 27 arrests over the weekend, a decrease of three compared to the previous week. While overall arrest numbers dipped slightly, several serious cases underscored ongoing public safety concerns.

The most significant arrest involved Jorge Preciado, who was taken into custody on suspicion of felony child endangerment under Penal Code 273(a)(1). The arrest followed a traffic collision that resulted in the deaths of two minors. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

In total, authorities reported 13 felony arrests and 14 misdemeanor arrests. The arrests included:

  • 4 DUI arrests

  • 3 arrests for possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions
  • 2 domestic violence arrests
  • 2 arrests for contempt of court for disobeying a court order

Additional arrests were made for child abuse with possible great bodily injury or death, possession of a substance similar to toluene, forgery involving a public or corporate seal, making criminal threats, public intoxication, possession of an assault weapon, grand theft of money or property exceeding $400, and sexual battery involving inappropriate touching.
