California Senate Bill SB-871 Stopped, However Eight Other Bills Stripping Away Basic Rights Are Still Being Considered

SB-871 has been stopped. The bill proposed by California Senator Dr. Richard Pan (D-SD-06), would have required all California students, in public, private, pre-schools and daycare to take the Covid-19 vaccine and all boosters, along with ten other vaccines before attending.

Senator Scott Wilk

In a poll released yesterday by KHTS, over 88 percent of all participants shared they would not place their child in school if SB-871 became law.

“I have always encouraged all Californians who want to get the shot to do so, as I have been fully-vaccinated and boosted. However, this measure would have been a one-size-fits-all-approach and marginalized a parent’s ability to make important decisions for their children. I am glad that the bill’s author had enough common sense to not move forward with it,” said Senate Republican Leader Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita).

Despite stopping two bills recently proposed by California Democrats (SB-871 and AB 1993), some California Democratic legislators are not giving up their mission to require all Californians to be vaccinated. Eight other bills are slated to be voted on in the next few weeks. If these bills are passed and signed by Governor Gavin Newsom it would be the tip of the spear, that could roll out across the country and create the strictest government control over personal health choices.

These bills are listed in detail on the Unity Project website.

AB-2098: Classifies anti-covid medical opinion as “unprofessional conduct” subject to discipline by the California medical board.

SB-866: Lowers the age of vaccination consent to 12 without parental consent or knowledge.

SB-920: Authorizes the California medical board to inspect a doctor’s office and medical records without a patient’s consent.

SB-1464: Requires law enforcement to enforce public health guidelines or lose their funding.

SB-1479: Requires schools to create long term testing plans and report test results to the California Department of Health.

SB-1390: Prohibits any person or entity from making statements government deems untrue or misleading by any means including on the internet or in ads.

SB 1184: Authorizes school health personnel to disclose a child’s medical information without a parents consent to a third party.

AB 1797: Creates an immunization tracking system giving all government agencies access to vaccination records of all persons.

Each of these bills would strip away many of the rights created in our American Constitution, free speech (SB-1390 & AB-2098) being the most prevalent. KHTS promises to continue remaining vigilant on the progress of each of these bills in the hopes that the general populace becomes more aware of the consequences if any of these bills become law.

  1. It’s imperative that every voter, every parent, every educator, every medical professional be fully informed. These bills would be the end of free speech and medical choice as we know it!! It’s criminal and wholly irresponsible how uninformed people are with regard to what the government, state and federal are doing.

  2. “Stripping Away Basic Rights,” in the title makes this an opinion piece.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
