Cooler temperatures are expected in the Santa Clarita weather forecast following continuous weeks of triple-digit conditions, officials said.
Santa Clarita residents can expect a cooling trend starting Friday with less humidity as the last few days, according to Mike Wofford, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“That trend will continue through Sunday and then level out through next week,” Wofford said.
For the last couple of weeks, the Santa Clarita Valley has been seeing temperatures about five to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year; however, temperatures are expected to return to near normal, according to officials.
For Friday, temperatures are expected to be in the mid 90s, but by Sunday, temperatures are expected to be in the 80s and stay around that range throughout the week, Wofford said.
Humidity levels are also expected to lower, according to NWS officials.
Humidity levels have been in the 40 percent range the last few days due to moisture coming from the south. However, that moisture is set to dissipate, lowering humidity levels.
“Humidity levels will be around 25 to 30 percent,” Wofford said.
