The California Highway Patrol Newhall Office is escorting drivers through the Grapevine after it was shut down completely due to snow.
CHP units from the Fort Tejon and Newhall areas are conducting escorts through the Grapevine as the roadway reopens after snowy conditions led to a closure.
“Road conditions are still very wet,” CHP officials said. “Do not attempt to pass the CHP officers conducting the escorts.”
Hazardous weather conditions are expected to last all night tonight.
The Grapevine remains closed at this time. There is no estimated time for how long the closure will be in place. Caltrans District 7 is working hard on clearing the snow and ice from the roadway. pic.twitter.com/Q04CojHVrb
