38-Year-Old Acton Mother Of Two Young Children Unexpectedly Dies

An Acton mother of two young children unexpectedly died Wednesday, leaving a family and community in shock this holiday season.

Kim Roberts was described as someone who was a bright woman ever since she was a young girl, and who had her dreams come true, becoming a mother to two daughters, Michael Haase, a longtime friend of Kim, recalled.

“I met Kimberly when she was a little girl,” Haase said. “Kimberly was the brightest light of any of us, just the kindest young lady you could ever meet. For many years, we went on many vacations together and made memories together.”

Kimberly grew up in Santa Clarita and graduated from Valencia High School.

After graduating from high school, Kimberly went on to become a dental hygienist.

Haase says that Kimberly always wanted to have a family of her own one day and continue creating memories, and that wish came true for her in 2019.

“She met a great individual named Ryan Roberts, who she ultimately decided to marry,” Haase said.

The two married on May 19, 2019, and bought a home in Acton, where they started the family Kim always wanted.

Together, they had two children: Mylah, who turned 3 in September and Macie, born in June of 2025.

“She absolutely enjoyed being a positive part of the community and fulfilling her dream of raising these two daughters and having a wonderful husband,” Haase said.

Haase says that Kim was very organized and had plans for all the family to get together this year for Christmas to celebrate.

However, tragically, the plans have all come to a halt.

On Wednesday, Kim was found unresponsive in her home and was unable to be revived by paramedics.

Her death came as a shock as she did not have any known health concerns. As of Friday, Kim’s exact cause of death is unknown.

“It is an absolute tragedy, a very young girl who was beautiful and full of life who desperately wanted to be a mom and continue her wonderful life that has now been completely cut short,” Haase said. “She leaves behind these two small children and a husband who will have to figure out a way to move forward.”

In addition to her husband and two children, Kim leaves behind her parents, two brothers and their spouses and kids, and her sister, and friends.

Kim’s parents and in-laws are all surrounding Ryan and helping take care of their two young children.

“As a very, very close personal friend to the family, somebody who’s known Kim for most of her life, it’s been a complete honor to have gotten to know her. She’s done nothing but bring joy to everybody. Her father Bob doted on her and her husband, Ryan Roberts, doted on her, which is clearly evident from a holiday picture that Kim posted three days ago on social media showing herself, her husband, her two children together, all with the brightest smiles that you could possibly imagine,” Haase said.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Ryan cover the unexpected funeral expenses and to help pay for bills as he takes time off from work.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
