The final survivor of the Saugus High shooting has been released from the hospital on Tuesday, officials said.
Mia Tretta, 15, was shot after a classmate opened fire in the Saugus High School quad, killing two and himself, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Thankfully our daughter was released from the hospital and is at home recovering. We are grateful for the incredible outpouring of thoughts and prayers expressed by our family, friends and the Santa Clarita community,” said a statement from the Tretta Family.
Another survivor of the shooting, Addison Koegle, was released over the weekend and created a heartfelt video thanking the “Saugus Strong” community, which was played during a vigil on Sunday.

“I really appreciate all of the love and support. I am so thankful for each and every one of you. I wish I could be there tonight, but I’m just not quite ready. But I wanted to tell you all a few things about my best friend,” Addison said in the video.
Mia, Addison and Andrew Gardetto, the third student injured, along with the two students killed, Dominic Blackwell and Gracie Muehlberger, were honored with the vigil at Central Park attended by over 10,000 people.
“I believe the Muehlberger family and the Blackwell family would want me to express that this senseless, tragic day is not how they want Dominic or Gracie to be remembered,” said Vince Ferry, principal at Saugus High. “It is not how they want our Saugus High School community to be remembered. We must remember Gracie and Dominic for who they were: loving, selfless, happy young people.”

You are Saugus Strong, Mia. Keep getting better
Sad that the kids seem to see this as normal they even put gun shot kits in the classes just in case. I felt like some of the teens talking was almost emotionless maybe desensitized by graffic death scenes in game’s,movies and Internet. Maybe it’s time to put some restrictions on these gory things for teens. Kids don’t need Internet or social media
