Cameron Reed Hansen, 31, was arrested back in March 2015 and charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of injuring a spouse or girlfriend, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office officials.
Prosecutors believe Hansen visited his ex-girlfriend’s Burbank apartment March 3, 2015, and began to attack and bite her. At one point, the woman’s mother and roommate tried to step in and separate the two and were stabbed multiple times, according to prosecutors.
When investigators arrived at the women’s residence, they discovered three injured women who were 67 years old, 41 years old and 21 years old, the report said.
Both stabbing victims were taken to a local hospital in critical, but stable, condition.
Hansen has since pleaded not guilty, and the trial continues to move forward with jury selection. Prosecutors expect the jury selection process to be over by the end of the week, with opening statements possibly beginning as soon as Tuesday, Feb. 21.
If convicted, Hansen faces up to a maximum of life in prison and currently is being held at the North Valley Correctional Facility in Castaic in lieu of $2,160,000 bail.
